BEST Robotics (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) is a national robotics competition seeking to engage middle and high school students in critical skills needed in the modern economy. The Heart of Texas BEST Robotics hub (Hosted by TSTC Waco) serves the six county central Texas area including Waco, Temple, and Killeen / Fort Hood, and provides an opportunity for middle and high school students and teachers to compete in a competition that focuses on the engineering design process, team work, soft skills, and above all fun application of all STEM areas.
BEST Robotics began 21 years ago with two engineers experiencing the powerful connection between young students, technical problem solving, and the collaborative atmosphere of middle and high school competition. That singular vision has evolved into over 45 hubs in a seventeen states running an annual design to market challenge. Schools are provided with limited resources (Returnable and Consumable kits at no cost to schools...FREE MATERIALS), limited time (6 WEEK COMPETITION), and all resources needed to bring the robot to life.
Robots are only the tip of the iceberg. Teams compete in marketing, documentation, exhibit & interview, and maybe most importantly...Spirit and Sportsmanship categories to take home the ultimate prize...The BEST Overall award. Top placing teams advance to the Texas BEST Regional Competition hosted by the University of Texas Dallas.
What combines the excitement of Friday Night Athletics, industry grade competition, and the pure experience of FUN...This competition. Did I mention there is no cost to competing schools!!!

TSTC Waco's annual video game design challenge VideoBlast is now open for registration. High school and middle school teams are eligible to compete and all software is available FREE! Teams compete to place in several categories...Game Award, People's Choice, Promotional Design, and Design Notebook Awards which all determine the overall Champion and winner of the BLAST Award

|On November 9th & 10th, sixty school from Texas and New Mexico competed in the Texas BEST Robotics Regional Championships hosted by University of Texas Dallas. Four teams from the Heart of Texas BEST Hub advanced to regionals via BEST Overall (Crawford High School #1 and Belton New Tech High @ Waskow #2) and Robot Head 2 Head (Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy #1 and Reicher Catholic High School #2) categories. |

|Once again, Baylor Universiy has graciously agreed to host the Heart of Texas BEST Robotics Test Drive at their brand new facility, The BRIC (Baylor research and Innovative Collaborative). We are only 3 DAYS AWAY, and cannot wait to see the progress and innovation that teams have come up with. We'll see you Saturday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.|

|On Saturday, September 21st 2013 twenty two teams from twenty two school began the six week journey that is a BEST Robotics Competition by attending the kickoff event at TSTC Waco. The entire Hub staff is waiting to see what innovative and creative solutions the students come up with for this year's game, and if the kickoff was any indication as to what is to come, then this year will be our BEST YET! Good Luck to all teams and we will see you on October 12th at the Baylor BRIC for test drive.|
